THE STORY
College Baseball Team Steals Football Helmet to Break School Record?!
Oregon just set a new program record, exploding for 35 runs in a dominant win over Columbia and beating their previous record of 23.
This was a true team effort—twelve different Ducks scored, with eleven of them crossing home plate multiple times. And every time a teammate hit a home run, they celebrated in style—rocking the Oregon football helmet.
But, they aren’t the only baseball team doing this!
After going down a rabbit hole, I found several other programs that wear football helmets for home run celebrations and all kinds of funny headgear!
Pittsburgh players throw on a gold construction helmet, a nod to their blue-collar mindset.
Alabama goes with a disco helmet, because, well… why not?
And even in the MLB, teams are getting in on the action, putting on some wild hat combinations.
